Heading Towards Complimentary Medicine

I saw this graphic and was quite intrigued by the various services that were integrated into what Dr. Bonnie Feldman called complementary medicine. I love when we look at the broader approach to health and medicine.

The only thing I don’t like about the image above is that I think it leaves out some important elements in the care team. The doctors themselves are not even on the graphic. However, that complaint aside, I like that we’re looking more broadly at how we treat patients. I also like that we’re talking about teams of people working together to help someone be more healthy.

Since I’m a tech person, I think the key to all of this collaboration and team work gets back to high quality communication and data sharing. That’s the problem that I think technology solves best. This is why I’m so excited about the future of healthcare technology.
