These technologies make the data immutable, eliminating the need for third-party validation. Today, any time data is exchanged between healthcare entities, it has to be aggregated and validated. Even then, there is little confidence that the information is accurate.
In the Avaneer Network, data will be accessible where it lives by anyone on the network who is permissioned to access it. In this way, the data is constantly refreshed, current, and available in near real-time. Network participants continue to control their own data and can decide with whom it can be shared. The network also provides a secure space where payers, providers, and innovators can collaborate to bring new solutions to market faster and easier.
According to Pelin, the possibilities to transform the industry through this type of network are limitless. Patient coverage could be verified almost instantaneously. Prior authorizations could take minutes instead of days and weeks. The improvements in prior authorizations alone could save the industry hundreds of millions, improve outcomes, and create a better patient experience. These are just two of the many use cases.
