If you follow me on Twitter, then you probably know that I love a good pun or a good dad joke. As the father of 4, I feel it’s my right to enjoy them. You can find full threads of #HITPuns as well. Given this as background, it should be no surprise when Kurt Lucas, MD asked for “What common ‘jokes’ in your workplace slightly irritate you?” that I got excited.
Here’s a roundup of the “irritating” joke that Dr. Lucas shared and a few more to get you ready for the weekend.
What brought you into the ER today?
“An ambulance.”

When I introduce myself as “Dr. Winter” and they respond “Ooo, winter is coming!”
Also everyone who says “what’s up, doc?”

Me: Any problems with your ears?
Them: What? (like they can't hear, then they crack up)

Not technically a joke but in the UK when you ask people how they are they say “better than the weather haha.” Working in retail it gets a bit monotonous.

OK, I pulled this joke ("boy or girl?") last year. 10 minutes later, the ultrasound guy gave the results and said I wasn't pregnant.
The thing is, I was pregnant. The next week I went into labour with a 7mm kidney stone that the ultrasound didn't pick up.
