Call for Applications: Prime Health Challenge 2020 COVID19 Edition

The Prime Health Challenge is one of my favorite challenges of the year. We get to learn what healthcare buyers in Colorado want, see innovative companies, share success stories, and make solutions possible that might not otherwise happen. The Colorado Health Foundation helps fund Prime Health, and its mission to improve the healthcare of Coloradans is made possible by programs like this challenge.

This year marks the 7th Annual Prime Health Innovation Challenge, which will occur during a time when our healthcare system faces an incredible battle: COVID-19. This year’s Challenge is focused on recruiting solutions that support providers and healthcare leaders in continuing to provide high quality, accessible, affordable care in the context of a global pandemic. This challenge is truly focused on matching great solutions to an important issue. Companies and healthcare organizations give specific feedback about what they need.

The Organization:

Prime Health is the engine of Colorado’s nationally ranked digital health innovation ecosystem. Through radical collaboration, we accelerate innovation that improves the equity, access, quality, and cost of health care by fostering the adoption of sustainable solutions, technologies, clinical models, and partnerships.

Since 2012, Prime Health has supported hundreds of Colorado companies ranging from an idea in its infancy to some of the largest in the state, and the nation. Programs have directly contributed to the success of some of Colorado’s best and brightest health startups, including CirrusMD, BurstIQ, Redox, Care on Location, Manatee, Nymbl, Meru Health, and so many more. For the first time ever, former winners and participants are invited to apply.

Rachel Dixon, the executive director of Prime Health, serves on the Colorado eHealth Commission. Her expertise in telehealth makes her the perfect leader for a challenge focused on digital health solutions to a difficult problem.  Dixon spoke inviting all to get involved.

“If you want to get involved in Prime Health, we want to have you. We have a culture of innovation and action, of getting stuff done, of collaboration. We think there’s room for every voice in the conversation.”- Rachel Dixon

The Event:

Top health tech entrepreneurs from around the country compete for the chance to win a funded pilot with a leading Colorado health organization. Applications are due by July 17, 2020. Expert Judges meet together to address potential business challenges and opportunities for each startup and can be advocates for Colorado success.

The Program Numbers:

  • Vetted and validated more than 275 health innovation solutions
  • Supported the implementation of more than 32 health innovation pilots and partnerships
  • Awarded nearly $1 million in prize funding

Watching an organization dedicated to the success of Colorado and increasing health equity has been inspiring for me. The opportunity to get involved can be judging companies, sponsoring the event, applying, or becoming a host partner organization. If you know a great company that has a solution, share this innovation opportunity with them. https://www.primehealthco.com/challenge
