Martin Luther King Holiday

Today is the Martin Luther King holiday in the US and so we’re taking a little break from our usual content. Martin Luther King Jr. was an extraordinary individual and I believe is one of the greatest orators this world has ever known. So, as we celebrate this day, I thought the best way to celebrate would be to share a few of his famous quotes that we may want to think about in healthcare.

The time is always right to do what is right.

Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.

Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?

The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.

The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character – that is the goal of true education.

Lots to chew on here. I hope you get a chance to enjoy this holiday. We’ll be back tomorrow with more great health IT content.
