Healthcare Regulations: Buying or Selling? – Healthcare IT Today Podcast Episode 16

For the 16th episode of the Healthcare IT Podcast, we’re talking about whether we’re “buying” or “selling” various healthcare regulations. Back in Episode 12 of the podcast, we tried out a new format we called Health IT: Buy or Sell? It was so popular that we decided to bring it back again in this episode and will likely do it more in the future.

For those not familiar with the format, we take an assertion or other statement about health IT and we have to share whether we’re buying that assertion or whether we’re selling the assertion. Basically, do we agree with it or not. Plus, we share some insights and perspectives on why we’re buying it or why we’re selling it.

We chose some really great topics for this healthcare regulation edition of Buying or Selling. Here’s a quick rundown of the assertions we discuss in this episode:

  • The US Needs a National Patient ID
  • UnitedHealth is a Better Home for PatientsLikeMe
  • De-identified Patient Data
  • EHRs Should be Regulated by the FDA
