While at the HIMSS 2019 conference, Healthcare IT Today sat down with Will O’Connor, MD, CMIO at TigerConnect, to learn about the latest in secure healthcare communication at TigerConnect. Dr. O’Connor was able to share some interesting new features that TigerConnect announced at the event. TigerConnect has been doing secure healthcare communication for a while, but it’s great to see them expanding the communication options available to providers and now patients.
In our discussion, we talk about TigerConnect’s new group video solution and a new product aimed at patient communication. It’s great to see TigerConnect adding the video option to their service. I’m quite interested to see where this is used and how this evolves. What’s particularly interesting is that it competes with many of the telehealth platforms out there. However, TigerConnect has the distinct advantage of already being part of the provider’s workflow because of their other secure communication options.
Dr. O’Connor and I also talk about how better communication can help with physician burnout and what other value there is from improving healthcare communication. I’m always impressed by how many ways healthcare can benefit from improved communication. That’s why it was also interesting to hear Dr. O’Connor describe where TigerText was headed.
