We’re excited to share the topic and questions for this week’s #HITsm chat happening Friday, 3/8 at Noon ET (9 AM PT). This week’s chat will be hosted by Colin Hung (@colin_hung) on the topic of “Information Blocking in Healthcare”.
Ever since the information blocking rules came out, there’s been a lot of discussion about information blocking in healthcare. Is it really happening or is this a government regulation gone awry? Plus, this regulation goes well beyond information blocking to also look at things like API fees, patient export of EHR data, and physician patient data.
Is this legislation going to help prevent organizations from information blocking? Is information blocking really a big problem in healthcare or is this rule much ado about nothing? What does this rule mean for EHR vendors, for healthcare organizations, and patients?
You can read more about the Information Blocking proposed rule including links to a number of fact sheets on the rule here.
