Announcing the 2019 Conference – Focused on Practical Health IT Innovation

For those of you who missed the inaugural Health IT Expo in New Orleans, you missed out on the start of a really special health IT community. The good news is that the inaugural event went so well, we’re ready to announce the 2nd Annual conference. Yes, you probably noticed we made a slight name change from Health IT Expo to, but we’re planning to continue the same great effort to bring together the health IT community and provide opportunities for members of the community to share practical innovations and collaborate with each other.

The 2nd Annual conference is happening July 31 – August 2, 2019, at the Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel in Boston, MA. This 3 day event focuses on No BS sessions that are chock full of practical innovations that hospitals, health systems, and medical practices can take back to their organizations and see value right away. We eschew speakers who only want to share useless platitudes that don’t provide appreciable value to healthcare organizations.

Along with 3 days of great health IT content, we also focus on uniquely formatted sessions like our unconferences where the audience asks the questions and the community offers solutions. No conference of ours would be complete without great food and a little bit of fun as well. We realize that some of the most valuable parts of any conference are the opportunity to spend time together with peers. That’s where the long term bonds happen which endure well beyond the 3 days of the event and you’re certain to find this at

The conference will focus on these 5 main themes which are of real importance to health IT professionals:

  • Security and Privacy
  • Analytics
  • Communication and Patient Engagement
  • IT Dev Ops
  • Operational Alignment and Support

If you’ve been working in any of these areas in your healthcare organization, we’d love to have you share your insights, perspectives, and experiences with the community. All you have to do is submit our simple Call for Speakers form and our committee will consider your session for the conference. The more practical takeaways you can offer attendees, the more likely your session will be chosen.

If you’re a vendor that sells a health IT solution in one of these categories, we’d love to have you as a conference sponsor or exhibitor. You can see the full matrix of sponsorship opportunities we have available. We work hard to make sure our sponsors get a lot of value before, during, and after the conference. Reach out to us if you’d like to talk over the details.

We’ve got a number of great things planned for the conference which we’ll announce shortly including working on involving patients in the conference as much as possible. It seems crazy to have a health IT conference with very few patients and we’re working hard to improve on that. Last year was a good start with a patient being the very first keynote speaker at This year, we’re looking at ways to bring the patient perspective even more powerfully into the event.

The Super Early Bird registration is currently open. We’ve added some special pricing for health IT professionals from provider organizations, non-profits, and government organizations. We know your conference budgets are tight and we want to make sure you have an affordable health IT conference option which provides a lot of value for your conference dollar. Just be sure to Register Now before the super early bird pricing ends on February 28, 2019.

We can’t wait to bring you the 2nd edition of in the beautiful city of Boston. We hope you’ll join us in this great health IT community event. If you have any questions about the event or ideas on how we can make it better, let us know on our contact us page. We’ll see you all in Boston!
