Foodie Chat – Lessons Healthcare Can Learn from Food – #HITsm Chat Topic

We’re excited to share the topic and questions for this week’s #HITsm chat happening Friday, 1/11 at Noon ET (9 AM PT). This week’s chat will be hosted by John Lynn (@techguy) on the topic of “Foodie Chat – Lessons Healthcare Can Learn from Food”.

One thing we learned in 2018 was that many people take part in the #HITsm chat to create new relationships with those in the community as much as they come to the chat to learn about healthcare and health IT.

With that idea in mind, we’ve been trying out some Twitter chats that are about a topic that most people enjoy discussing but may only tangentially relate to healthcare. The first time we did this was when we talked about video games. This week we’re going to try it again with a chat about food. Yes, a topic that everyone is familiar with and can share their perspectives. Plus, it’s really nice that there are no right or wrong answers (although, I’m sure some will disagree).

Along with talking about our own food preferences which will help us get to know others in the community, we’ll also talk about the impact food has on our health and the healthcare system. So, we’ll mix in a little healthcare for the purists out there. Plus, the reality is that food influences are health more than most of us like to admit.

Join us for this week’s #HITsm chat where we have a little fun talking about food and healthcare.

Topics for this week’s #HITsm Chat:
T1: What is your favorite place to eat and why? #HITsm

T2: What’s the relationship between food and healthcare? #HITsm

T3: How can healthcare organizations use food in the work they do? #HITsm

T4: Analogies are always fun. Compare a health IT company, a healthcare organization, or a part of the healthcare system to a food. #HITsm

T5: If you could have a meal with anyone in the world, who would it be and why? #HITsm

Bonus: If you were allowed one last meal before you died, what would it be? #HITsm
