Here’s a description of the position:

The Leidos Health Group has an immediate opportunity for a ServiceNow Architect, working at our Leidos office in Windsor Mill / Woodlawn, MD.

This role will coordinate closely with senior leadership to help establish clear objectives and effectively communicate program needs, manage time / scope / ITSM and ITOM management, and establish effective, bi-directional, collaborative communication within our Program Team.  This role will require you to utilize your depth of experience to act as an idea and change leader regarding ServiceNow and furthermore, you will assure delivery of new features and capabilities of the ServiceNow suite of enterprise applications. Ultimately, these activities will be extended in communication to the customer.  You will interact daily with technical resource which are fulfilling technical requirements for the customer.  Your goal will be to work with all stakeholders to help Leidos ensure delivery of high-quality, robust and scalable solutions with minimal business impact.

Technical Responsibilities:

Create, document, and evangelize ServiceNow configuration, design, development, and integration; communicate best practices/frameworks

Build the long-term strategic roadmap for ServiceNow solutions
Communicate with the internal teams in non-technical terms, understand their requirements and guide developers with suitable solutions

Drive and provide architecture review and assessment of enhancements within the ServiceNow platform

Develop solutions across the ServiceNow platform to utilize automation and integration capabilities of ServiceNow, focused on leveraging business services with out of the box capabilities

Lead development and execution of regulated and non-regulated software solutions, including server software, mobile software, web applications, systems communications, and integrations

Provide technical coaching and oversight to junior developers
Work with cross-functional team in an agile and fast-paced development environment to define user stories and tasks

Document architectural solutions in a clear and accurate manner

Architect new ways of solving problems using the ServiceNow platform

Support and enhance reporting solutions within ServiceNow and through external reporting solutions to support business goals

Support alignment of IS strategy and planning with the company’s business goals and objectives

Review and recommend where ServiceNow platform fits into the enterprise architecture roadmap

Lead and direct software development and testing

Management Responsibilities:
Manage team assignments and tasking to ensure complete coverage of all assigned tasks.

Ensure operational environment remains operational.

Ensure tasks are completed as planned.

Complete service and change requests on schedule.

Manage and optimize costs with close focus on under runs and over runs.

You will be responsible for financial management of your team, which includes hardware, software, and staffing.

Manage all personnel needs and interact with HR when required.

Perform annual personnel write-ups and reviews.

Ensure personnel performance.

Review and approve weekly personnel approvals.

Ensure that any technical proposal needs are supported.

Qualifications

BS degree and 12 – 15 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10 – 13 years of prior relevant experience. Experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.

Required Skills:

Good – Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.

Ability to adapt and be productive in a dynamic environment.

Strong communication and collaboration skills supporting multiple stakeholders and business operations with both technical and non-technical

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Project)

Bachelor’s degree and minimum 12 years of relevant experience in solution engineering and architecture, including ServiceNow. Additional years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of Bachelor’s degree

5+ years’ experience of ServiceNow development and / or ServiceNow implementation

Expert knowledge of ServiceNow toolset and integrations with external systems

Experience with ITIL, Service Management, HTML and CSS

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Demonstrated leader with team-oriented interpersonal skills; ability to effectively interface with a broad range of people and roles

Strong interpersonal skills, customer-focused attitude and ability to deal with ambiguity

Proven team player and team builder
