Celebrating 1000 Blog Posts on Healthcare IT Today!

Hard to believe this is blog post #1000 for Healthcare IT Today! Over the years, Healthcare IT Today has had a wide variety of writers. While over the past years I’ve been the main author and published 330 blog posts, we’ve had some really incredible authors do the other 670 posts.

Thanks to Erin Kennedy who was posting long before I took over the site and is still sharing amazing resume and cover letter content for healthcare IT professionals. I’m excited to have recently had Adam Greenberg start posting regularly to Healthcare IT Today as well. His many years as a recruiter provide a great and needed perspective for this site. Of course, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the lovely Gwen Darling who started Healthcare IT Today. Hopefully we’re carrying on the tradition she started.

I just ran a report of the most viewed blog posts on Healthcare IT Today (at least since I added the stats plugin). Here’s a look at some of those top posts:

I Got Certified for Healthcare IT Jobs – You Can Too! – It’s no surprise that this post is the most popular. As you can see from this list of most viewed posts, getting Epic Certified is a very popular topic. This post gives people a lot of insight into the process.

What Does A Clinical Informatics Data Analyst Do, Exactly? – I’ll admit that this post being #2 was a bit of a surprise to me. Seems to me like we might need to look at doing more posts about the various types of Healthcare IT jobs that exist out there. We could get some first hand perspectives on what it’s like to have these jobs.

Are You Considering Becoming a Healthcare IT Consultant? – This is a hard decision for many people and Joe Lavelle did a great analysis of some of the things you should consider as you debate a full time position in healthcare IT or a consulting position. I’m sure this debate will continue for many years to come.

“I Got Certified for Healthcare IT Jobs – You Can Too!”: Happy Belated Birthday! – It’s no doubt that the sequel to the top post was popular as well. People’s responses to this are pretty incredible to read now.

How to Become Epic Certified – Yeah…we get it. Readers want to know how to become Epic Certified. If Judy would just make this process simpler.

Independent EMR/EHR Implementation Specialist – Another great interview and overview of a health IT job. It’s fascinating to see how these jobs evolve over time too.

Epic Salary and Bonuses – Sometimes the shortest posts are the best posts. Was and still is pretty interesting to see the salary schedule for someone working at Epic. I wonder how it’s evolved over time. Anyone want to share more details?

HIPAA Security Certification – Worth the Price? – The course linked in the post is not being offered live right now, but they do have a Cybersecurity course. Interesting to see so much interest in a HIPAA Security Certification in 2015. Nothing has really changed in 2018. People still want and need these courses.

Some great insights above into what you the reader find most valuable. The good news is that we have even bigger and better things in store for Healthcare IT Today. I can’t share all the details now, but let’s just say that Healthcare IT Today is going to get a massive makeover and you’re going to see a lot more of it in the future. The good news is that Healthcare IT Central will still be the same and offer job seekers a tremendous way to find healthcare IT jobs.

Thanks to all of the readers out there who have supported Healthcare IT Today over all the years. We’re looking forward to thousands of more blog posts on Healthcare IT Today and the full Healthcare Scene network.
