Hire Character … Train Skill

There are a lot of hiring strategies out there. Although, one thing is absolutely clear in every company I’ve ever seen. Making sure you hire the right people for your organization is the single most important thing you can do to make your company successful.

I came across a really simple quote for how to approach hiring from Lori Greiner (Known as the Queen of QVC, but most famous from being on Shark Tank).

Hire Character and Train Skill

I think this is a great strategy. When it comes to healthcare, I think you could take it a step further. Often someone has the character and the skills, but doesn’t have healthcare experience. I’d take that person over someone who has healthcare experience, but doesn’t have the best character or skills any day.
