I can’t believe that 2015 is almost over. This year has flown by for me. Looking over the past year I’ve had a chance to attend a wide variety of healthcare IT conferences. In fact, you can see my full list of healthcare IT conferences from this year, past years, and also a look at some of the top digital health conferences.
The real challenge with healthcare IT conferences right now is that there’s so many of them. I could literally attend a conference every week and I still wouldn’t be able to attend all of them. The great thing is that I live in Las Vegas and a large number of them pass through Las Vegas regularly.
Looking into next year that’s really going to be the case. I’ll be starting with the Digital Health Summit at CES (Consumer Electronics Show) and then that will lead into the healthcare IT mega conference known as HIMSS. Plus, as we get to summer, AHIP (payer) and ANI (healthcare CFOs) are both going to be in Las Vegas as well.
There are so many events, how do you select which ones you attend? I’ve had to personally limit mine to those that pay me to attend and those that are in Las Vegas. The one exception is HIMSS for me.
Some of my favorite events to attend are EHR user conferences. There’s nothing more valuable to me than getting to spend time with the people “working in the trenches” of healthcare and hearing their experience. I wonder if 2016 will bring user conferences from other digital health companies. Are there any large enough to hold their own user conference?
Let me know which digital health conferences you attend and which ones you’d like to attend. Are there other ones happening that I should know about? If you’re going to be at any of these conferences I always love meeting readers in person. I hope to see you there.
