Top EMR and HIPAA Posts

Happy New Year Everyone! Since most people are off today, we took off work as well. However, I thought it would be fun to start the new year with a look back at the most viewed posts on EMR and HIPAA in 2013. This doesn’t necessarily mean the post was done in 2013, but it does mean it was viewed the most. I hope you enjoy a look back at the top posts from 2013. Maybe there will be a few you haven’t seen before.

  1. 2014 EHR Mandate
  2. Examples of HIPAA Privacy Violations – More HIPAA Lawsuits Coming?
  3. Practice Fusion Violates Some Physicians’ Trust in Sending Millions of Emails to Their Patients
  4. Benefits of EMR or EHR Over Paper Charts
  5. Crazy and Funny ICD-10 Codes
  6. Email is Not HIPAA Secure
  7. Amazon AWS Will Sign HIPAA Business Associate Agreement
  8. Best Scanners for High Volume Scanning in a Doctor’s Office
  9. Obama Wants Full EHR by 2014
  10. Technology Products for EMR Users

Pretty interesting list. I’m amazed how many people are still wondering if there’s a 2014 Mandate for EHR. #1 post on the list is the best outline of the EMR mandate (or lack thereof). Looks like we’re not going to reach the goal of full EHR by 2014. #3 on the list was the longest I’ve ever worked on a post. I’m sure people will continue asking me about it for years to come. Others on the list are pretty predictable like HIPAA Lawsuits and Funny ICD-10 codes. A number of other really valuable ones on the list for those evaluating EHR software.

A few other aggregate stats since we started EMR and HIPAA that might be of interest:
