Gamma-Dynacare Selects PilotFish’s HL7 Interface Engine Solution to Support Strategic Integration Initiatives

Gamma-Dynacare Leverages Capability of Interoperability with Any Entity Towards Transforming Laboratory Information into Client Solutions

Middletown, CT –(PRWEB)– March 6, 2013 – Applied PilotFish Healthcare Integration (APHII), a provider of middleware solutions, announced today that Gamma-Dynacare Medical Laboratories has implemented its eiPlatform and eiConsole for Healthcare, HL7 interface engine products. The products support the high-volume data exchange and diverse healthcare integration requirements of Gamma-Dynacare’s broad range of laboratory information and services solutions. Gamma-Dynacare generates information and knowledge that is critical to patients and their health. Timely data exchange and the interoperability of this data between Gamma-Dynacare and its clients are essential.

Gamma-Dynacare is one of Canada’s largest and most respected providers of laboratory services and solutions. Their clients include 9 million patients, more than 15,000 healthcare professionals, governments, regional health authorities, hospitals, long-term care facilities, clinical trial sponsors, employers, insurers and other laboratories. The high volumes of data and very disparate requirements of these clients necessitate an enterprise integration solution. Central to Gamma-Dynacare’s selection of the PilotFish Interface Engine solution was its high performance capability, scalable architecture and common model method of integration.

“By rationalizing the myriad of data formats, communication protocols and encryption methods used through transformation to a single common set of standards, the eiPlatform interface engine enables Gamma-Dynacare to communicate and exchange data with any entity,” said Neil Schappert, Executive Chairman of Applied PilotFish Healthcare Integration. “The barriers to interoperability with any Gamma-Dynacare client are totally eliminated. Past impediments due to disparate formats, proprietary systems and incompatible transmission protocols are no longer obstacles to the rapid and seamless exchange of data.”

The eiPlatform is a future-proof solution. Not only does it support FTP transmission, it also supports web services and over 20 other protocols. It is easily extended through an Open API to support any future protocol or standard and for adding additional components.

The IDE complement to the eiPlatform, the eiConsole for Healthcare, is instrumental in enabling developers to rapidly configure Gamma-Dynacare interfaces. Its unique, graphical “Assembly Line”, drag & drop data mapper and HL7 specific features and components provide dramatic cost and time savings. “In metrics, we are finding that by leveraging PilotFish solutions interfacing time has decreased by 50%”, said David Brajkovich, Director of Business Applications Development at Gamma-Dynacare. “With PilotFish we can be more responsive and accommodating to our clients and deliver payloads that are spot on accurate, an absolute necessity in healthcare data exchange. As a result, we consider PilotFish one of our key enablers that provide us with technology services and support for client connectivity requirements.”

Using the eiPlatform and eiConsole for Healthcare, Gamma-Dynacare has gone into production with multiple interfaces exchanging data with hospitals, EMR providers, as well as dozens of practices. Future plans include expanding the use of PilotFish software to interface with other clients and to support Gamma-Dynacare’s Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), message queuing and standardization efforts.

Applied PilotFish Healthcare Integration is exhibiting at HiMSS13, March 4-6, 2013, New Orleans, LA, Booth #7941 – see live demos of the eiPortal and eiConsole for Healthcare (an IDE featuring a graphical Assembly Line for configuring interfaces).
