Dell Healthcare Announcements at RSNA

At RSNA Dell made several announcements involving significant customer and partnership alliances for its cloud-based medical image archive platform, pushing the company to the forefront of cloud-based medical image management.  In fact, in September, Frost & Sullivan recognized Dell Healthcare and Life Sciences with its 2012 North American Company of the Year Award, based on the firm’s analysis of the enterprise imaging informatics market.

·         Dell Leading With Industry’s Largest Cloud-based, Vendor-neutral Medical Archive

o   The Dell Cloud Clinical Archive is now managing more than 78 million clinical studies and more than 5.4 billion imaging objects, and supporting more than 800 clinical sites in one of the world’s largest cloud-based, vendor-neutral medical image archives.

·         Siemens Announces $11.7M Enterprise Archiving Contract with Intermountain Healthcare, New Enhancements to syngo.via and syngo.plaza at RSNA 2012

o   Intermountain Healthcare has selected Siemens Healthcare and Dell to provide medical image archiving and sharing services via the cloud to address their long-term data storage needs and consolidate medical imaging data across multiple picture archiving and communication system (PACS).

o   Leveraging the Dell Cloud Clinical Archive (DCCA), Dell and Siemens will be archiving over 14.7 million medical studies over the next few years.  Dell will also migrate an additional 470 terabytes of medical data into its cloud.

·         Dell and Siemens Healthcare Enable Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center to Meet Growing Demand for 3D Mammography

o   Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center (PVHMC) has selected Dell and Siemens Healthcare to provide diagnostic image archiving and sharing services to address long-term data storage needs and reduce the complexity of managing medical images. The move provides the hospital with a scalable and cost-effective storage and archival strategy for its new 3D breast imaging services.
