High Definition Volume Rendering® to become standard for web-based and mobile device viewing

Palo Alto, California, November 27, 2011 – Fovia Medical, Inc., a global leader in volume rendering technology, and DR Systems, Inc., a leading provider of healthcare enterprise imaging and information management solutions, announced today that DR Systems will enhance its product offering by incorporating Fovia’s High Definition Volume Rendering® technology across its Unity and zero-download v|Series product lines, including both web-accessible and mobile device-accessible advanced image processing and viewing.

Deployment of Fovia’s HDVR® server-side software will enable DR Systems to deliver high quality, high performance 3D imaging throughout its web- and mobile-based architecture.  By standardizing its various radiology offerings using Fovia’s award-winning HDVR® Connect software development kit, DR Systems will provide fully integrated, advanced visualization to its entire customer base, while simultaneously meeting the changing demands of the market through Fovia’s flexible and highly customizable thin-client solution.

“DR Systems has designed a uniquely simple and widely accessible user experience for advanced image processing driven by automated user preferences,” said Murray Reicher, M.D., DR Systems’ Chairman and co-founder.  “Until today, 3D and advanced image processing has often not fit into the routine workflow of the mainstream radiologist.  ”Fovia’s HDVR® Connect helped us solve that problem, so that DR Systems could automate presentation of MPRs, MIPs, color volumes and other advanced techniques via the web to all caregivers.”

Ken Fineman, Chief Executive Officer of Fovia, stated, “We have built a strong relationship with DR Systems during the HDVR integration and are very impressed with their focus on innovative radiology products. DR Systems’ widely recognized remote unified solution will provide a game-changing, streamlined experience for radiologists, and we are thrilled that our natively integrated HDVR will be showcased in such a robust offering.”

Fovia and DR Systems will be at RSNA 2011, November 27 – December 1 at the McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago.  Fovia will be in Booth #4714, South Building, Hall A, and DR Systems will be in Booth #2822, South Building, Hall A.
