The University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) is very well-known for its standout Health Informatics programs. Their Bachelor of Science and Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Health Information Management programs are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM), and their Master of Science in Health Informatics program is the only online graduate program designated as an Accredited Program by the Commission on Accreditation of Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM). Pretty impressive!
What I like about UIC is the fact that they understand the value of providing relevant and educational online resources for not just prospective, current, and past students, but for all of us in the industry – whether we’re associated with their programs or not. Case in point – check out their brand new Website. When they rolled out their last Website a while back, I was very impressed with the amount of comprehensive information available and have often used it as a reference source, but I’m here to report that the new Website is much easier to navigate, and provides even more resources including industry news, expert interviews, and complete course descriptions. What I really appreciate about the new site, though, is the introduction on the homepage entitled, “My Role in Health Informatics,” which helps chart a course for a newcomer who is interested in UIC’s programs. Take a look:
Students enter our program to either enhance their current careers or transition into new, more challenging fields. Depending on their work experience, our graduates are prepared for a wide range of roles at mid-to-high management levels in the health care information setting.
