TAMPA, Fla. – (Oct. 12, 2011) – David Schlaifer, President and CEO of Doctors Administrative Solutions (DAS), has earned a 2011 Tampa Movers & Shakers Award from Business Leader magazine in recognition of his business acumen and community involvement.
Schlaifer was recognized for his executive leadership of a company with fewer than 100 employees. To be considered for the award, nominees were required to demonstrate how their leadership resulted in significant business growth, as well as their industry achievements and community impact.

Under Schlaifer’s leadership, DAS (www.Dr.-Solutions.com) recently tripled its employee count and now boasts the largest electronic health record (EHR) implementation staff dedicated solely to West Central Florida. The firm, which helps physicians leverage IT advancements to run more profitable and effective practices, also recently expanded its client base to nearly 200 physicians and 1,000 users treating more than a half million patients, and realized a third straight year of revenue increases exceeding 200%.
Schlaifer has also spearheaded a number of community-based initiatives designed to create a connected healthcare community. These include organizations like Dr-Connect, a health information exchange (HIE) initiative serving the Tampa Bay region which has already had a significant impact on the region’s move toward interoperability.
