Legal and Regulatory Hurdles Confronting Telemedicine

Telemedicine encompasses the use of technology to monitor patients remotely, store clinical data, or facilitate real-time communication between patients and providers.  In this podcast we examine some of the regulatory issues and other barriers preventing the faster expansion of telemedicine in the U.S.; including licensure, Internet/telemedicine prescribing, confidentiality and privacy of patient information, reimbursement and coding, and legal liability.
