Shared Health Announces Michael Heekin as CEO; Founding Chief Operating Officer of WebMD to Lead Company

(Chattanooga, TN – July 27, 2011) – Shared Health, a leader in the health information technology (HIT) industry, today announced Michael Heekin has joined the company as Chief Executive Officer (CEO).  Heekin, the founding Chief Operating Officer of WebMD, is set to lead the company’s technology and services expansion.

Heekin was recently appointed by Governor Rick Scott to serve on Florida’s Government Efficiency Task Force and also worked as an advisor to Governor Jeb Bush in Florida’s effort to move toward electronic health records.  He has served on the Board of Shared Health since 2007.
