(Malibu, CA – August 1, 2011) – iChartsMD has recently launched their “EHR Technical and Implementation Support Specialist Program,” providing students from the Health IT Work Force Development Program with an opportunity to learn the iChartsMD EHR and Practice Management system and obtain experience in the field. East Los Angeles College and Santa Monica College are the first schools to offer the certificate program.
The program teaches the students to analyze the current work flow of a practice in order to design and customize the template-free cloud-based iChartsMD EHR and Practice Management System to any practice’s needs. Along with the design of the system, the program focuses on the implementation and training of the program, empowering the students and providing hands on experience for the students. The staff at iChartsMD works together to offer different perspectives from the company’s different departments and internship opportunities for the students.
This fall, the EHR Technical and Implementation Support Specialist Program will launch its second session at ELAC and SMC and plans for launching the program in other schools across the nation are currently being put into place. The Healthcare Workforce Development Program (HCWDP) is a labor/management partnership between the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services (DHS) and Service Employees International Union (SEIU), Local 721.
