Update: Twitter is having a problem pulling the tweet into my blog right now. So, here’s a link to the tweet until it embeds it.

ONC has been doing a ton of healthcare IT conferences. Most of which are in conjunction with the Health 2.0 people. I like contests. I’ve won a few myself (although, not in healthcare IT). I think they’re a great way to motivate people. Although, my only concern is what’s going to happen with the projects once the contest is over. I’d love to see ONC provide some more resources to the winners of the contest. Some post contest support and motivation would be a great way to spur even more innovation, create jobs and improve healthcare.
Hi, healthcare IT is need of the hour. There is need for the encouragement like ONC Healthcare IT Innovation Contests.
That support is part of the package. We know it’s needed…
Matthew,
Great to hear that it’s part of the package. I’m looking forward to watching all of these contests evolve and see what companies come out of them.
Instead of running contests, why not look at innovation running rampant in the global open source health IT community. Take a quick look at Open Health News http://www.openhealthnews.com and the COSI Open Health IT web site http://health.cositech.net The number of high quality innovative ‘Open Health’ solutions is amazing.
