China Pavilion to Open in Nashville Medical Trade Center

—First showroom in the United States to highlight innovations from fastest growing healthcare marketplace—

DALLAS – February 21, 2011 – Market Center Management Company, the management company of leading trade centers and trade events around the world, today announced a China Pavilion will open at the Nashville Medical Trade Center.  The China Pavilion will be the first permanent showroom in the United States for healthcare products and services from China.  Beijing-based Huida Investment Management Company will be responsible for developing the Pavilion.

The China Pavilion is the first in a series of international showrooms designed to showcase leading products and services from individual countries. Although currently planned for 10,000-square-feet, it is anticipated that Huida Investment Management Company’s needs for additional space will increase.

China has a rapidly growing sector of healthcare and medical products companies increasing their market share in western markets by offering high-quality, cost effective solutions. The China Association of Medical Devices, for example, states that there are approximately 12,000 medical device manufacturers in China.  The Pavilion at the Nashville Medical Trade Center is expected to showcase products and services across the spectrum of Chinese healthcare.

“The China Pavilion will anchor a truly global marketplace,” said Bill Winsor, president and CEO of Market Center Management Company. “For the first time, the most important new resources from China will be presented year-round to key decision makers. Our continuing mission as an international trade center is to offer a complete selection of the best products and services in the world for our customers making purchasing decisions.”

Huida Investment Management Company is currently working with two of the largest medical associations in China to recruit companies for space in the China Pavilion.  Further, they are promoting Nashville Medical Trade Center at the April edition of the China International Medical Equipment Fair (CMEF) in Shenzhen, the largest exhibition of medical equipment, related products and services in the Asia-Pacific region.

A major medical association from China is working with Market Center Management Company and Huida Investment Management Company to organize a trip in the coming months to tour the site of the Nashville Medical Trade Center and work on the design for the China Pavilion.

The China Pavilion reflects the business model that Nashville Medical Trade Center is using for countries that have a strong domestic market of medical products and services. Medical trade associations from 15 countries across three continents have requested proposals for space in the Nashville Medical Trade Center.

A Global Business Development Center, the first permanent service center in the United States for international companies seeking a turnkey solution for entry into the U.S. healthcare marketplace, was previously announced. Its broad service offerings will include showroom and display space planning, regulation and compliance consulting, and marketing support.

The Nashville Medical Trade Center, opening in 2013, is a 1.5 million square foot healthcare marketplace that unifies for the first time permanent showrooms, temporary exhibition space, and education and training facilities. The result is a comprehensive global marketplace for healthcare products, solutions and services.
