IMO Announces Year-End Release of Problem IT with ICD-10-CM Codes

ORLANDO, Fla. – Feb. 21, 2011 – Health IT vendors that partner with Intelligent Medical Objects® (IMO®) will have access to the firm’s much anticipated release of  IMO® Problem ÍITЙ with ICD-10-CM codes, available for integration in electronic health record (EHRs) by October 2011 – two  years ahead of the mandated October 2013 compliance deadline. In doing so, IMO addresses concerns of HIT vendors and provider organizations alike by providing access to ICD-10-CM terminology with ample time to complete system integration and iron out any issues prior to release to end users.

IMO, the industry’s leading provider of clinical interface terminology products, announced its ICD-10-CM guarantee today during HIMSS11. IMO is featuring its suite of Clinical Interface Terminology (CIT) products and medical informatics tools in Booth #3517 at the conference, taking place in Orlando February 20-24.

“Providing our vendor clients with access to our ICD-10-CM terminology interface well in advance of the implementation date helps ensure they can meet the needs of their provider clients,” said Frank Naeymi-Rad, IMO CEO and Chairman of the Board. “Early deployment also means that vendors can complete the mapping necessary to automatically capture patient data in both ICD-9-CM and ICD-10-CM, enabling end users to operate in a dual environment to accommodate transition timetables of all partners, payers and service providers.”

IMO’s Clinical Interface Terminology (CIT) is a suite of vocabulary products that allow clinicians to document diagnoses and care plans within an EHR using the familiar words and phrases that enable them to fully express clinical intent. This robust, user-friendly vocabulary is then automatically mapped to standardized vocabularies such as ICD-9-CM, ICD-10-CM, SNOMED® CT, HCPCS, CPT®, LOINC, MeSH and UMLS. As such, it easily connects providers with the patient, administrative and other information they need to support uniform labeling of health profiles, services rendered and outcomes across the enterprise.

“IMO terminology interface products will not only ease the transition to the new ICD-10-CM coding environment for both vendors and their provider clients, but we, as a company, will be there every step of the way to ensure that clinicians are able to document care using terms they prefer to create a truly meaningful patient record,” added Naeymi-Rad.
