OCHSNER SELECTS ENCORE HEALTH RESOURCES TO ASSIST WITH CLINICAL CONTENT DEVELOPMENT FOR THEIR EPIC IMPLEMENTATION

HOUSTON, TX – FEBRUARY 17, 2011Encore Health Resources, a leader in advanced information technology services for the global healthcare industry, has been selected to provide clinical content services for Ochsner Health System for their implementation of EpicCare Inpatient and Ambulatory.

Ochsner’s implementation of Epic to replace the scheduling, registration, billing and electronic medical records software in its clinics and hospitals will give the organization the opportunity to standardize across facilities and to take advantage of storing key patient data in a single system.

“Ochsner had already been a sophisticated user of technology,” said Chris Belmont, System Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Ochsner Health System. “Encore’s approach recognized our organization’s maturity, leveraging Ochsner’s own resources for a targeted, cost-effective solution to creating clinical content.”

Encore will provide consulting services throughout the year, facilitating an expedited process for the development of clinical content for Ochsner.  Through the use of tools and content from Zynx and CPM Research Center, Encore will facilitate the process to standardize and design evidence-based physician order sets (including the typical alerts, rules and reminders) for the inpatient and ambulatory enterprise and to standardize clinical documentation content and tools across the system, incorporating evidence-based content.

“Encore is delighted to be helping Ochsner move to Epic.  Our leadership team has had a long history of working with Ochsner, a valued long-term partnership,” said Steve Eckert, Partner, Encore Health Resources.  “We worked throughout the proposal process to understand Ochsner’s needs and craft the right solution. Through our responsiveness to Ochsner’s needs, we built confidence in our approach and our people.”
