33 More ONC-ATCB Certified EHR

Today, CCHIT announced their first ONC-ATCB certified EHR a day later than Drummond Group’s ONC-ATCB announcement. Although, CCHIT is announcing 33 EHR vendors (21 complete ONC-ATCB certified EHR and 12 module certified). No real surprises on this list. They were the previously CCHIT certified EHR companies. • Considering how long it take to get originally certified and how fast all 33 were re-certified, I surely hope no short-cuts or cutting-corners was a part of this re-certification process.
It may be up to the providers to ask “What’s up doc? “

  • Javier,
An interesting point. Definitely one I considered when I saw the number announced.

Of course, your last comment is key. Although, I think it’s an important question for providers to ask regardless of whether CCHIT cut corners or not. CCHIT nor any EHR certification provides a valuable assurance to providers. It’s up to the providers to sift the good from the bad EHR vendors.
