Fitting EMR Stimulus Money Into Your Strategic Plans

EMR stimulus is the icing on the cake….not the cake.

EMR stimulus is the cherry on top…not the ice cream.

EMR stimulus is the cream on the hot cocoa…not the hot cocoa.

That is all.

  • Yes. I know that my client is not even counting on the stimulus money for its EMR project. Additionally, some of what these larger EMR vendors are charging (especially with services) is far above and beyond what the stimulus promises.

One of the major reasons my client is implementing its EMR now is in preparation for future government reporting requirements. For them, this EMR project is more of a defensive measure than one stimulated by positive encouragement.

    Results > Means, right?

  • Nick, I like the idea of it being a defense mechanism. Not just against governments, but also insurance companies that one day may require this type of documentation.

  • Exactly, I don’t even use the stimulus incentives in my “pitch” at all, maybe just mention there is a possibility of it, but that’s it.

And it’s not like the stimulus pays for the EMR software itself anyway.
